any chance a full blown user sign-up / security component will be created....that will integrate with the Forums app ?

(I realize there is a password script - but it doesn't really provide user or admin interfaces for signing up, password recovery, managing users etc.)

In the latest version the forum admin can sign up new users themself from the admin menu, also users can be mangaged from the admin area as well.

Password recovery is not possible as passwords are 160bit one way encrypted. If passwords could be recovered then there would be no point in encrypting them as a hacker would just use the decryption tool to find the passwords of users.

You can change a users password if you are the admin by editing the users profile.

Most of the functions you ask for are in the admin section already and I'm working on a few others for the next version.

What I'm trying to accomplish is the creation of a member's only area....of which the forum will be only one component.

Optimally the user can sign up for access...and this information will be tied into their access to the forum...so that a 2nd sign up procedure isn't required.

Thanks....

In the admin area all you need to do is create a new forum titled "Member's Only" and set the permissions for member's only excluding all guests.

It's all there!  I use version 7.

You can even create a password protected area for just a certain few.  Or you can set a forum by group only.

Go through your admin page you will be amazed at the capabilities you have.

I'm not talking about a Members only area WITHIN the forum.  I'm talking about an area on the web site that will be for Members Only.

WWF will be but one item available to members in this area.

Thanks..
