Hi !

i'm working on a cript to detect some information about my visitors. I'm able to detect the OS version etc. but i also want to detect the name of their ISP. Is it possible to detect the ISP name with a script? (resolve from the IP nr?)

tia.

Alexander

there's a few free components that you can download for ASP that will resolve IP's to hostnames...

P.S. This is my 800th post!

This is working great ! Is there also a way to separate the ISP name from the DNS name?

For example the component resolved the folowing hostname:
cp123456-x.dbsch1.nb.home.nl

Is it possible with a script to extract only the name home.nl ?
(Select everything from the last dot or something?)

unfortunately, not everyone in the world uses the same exact naming method... so you could get unpredictable results if someone named their servers different ways
