I know I'm a little late in the running for upgrades, but is there anything I need to be concerned about for an upgrade from 7.0 RC1 to 7.7a? Basically, I modded the hell out of the forum (and I don't mind doing it again cuz your stuf rocks so much it's worth it.), but I just want to make sure that I'm not going to loose any user data.

Thanks!

Necro,

You should not lose any data. I recommend reading the change log for any DB changes you might need to worry about and be sure to back up your DB before starting your conversion.

I suggest copying your Data to a local instance of MSDE and testing. MSDE comes free with Visual Studio.NET and Office Professional.

Thx guys.

MadDog - You're not nuts. It was posted in a thread that about 7.7a, but got over looked. I figured it didn't belong there anyway, so i made it it's own thread. I would have removed the old one if i could've.

Str8Dog - Kraix is closed . I couldn't put the time into it that it required, so I turned it off. For me, if I can't do it right, I don't want to do it at all. I am focusing most of my time with http://www.BodyMod.org - BodyMod.org  . The site got huge, and is a lot of fun to play with =)

If I have time, maybe I'll reincarnate it...who knows.

It can be done without doing anything with your DB.

Just upload the files of the new version

What no ?

YOu just have to follow the versions history file.

DB Modifications are required when you are installing mods like who is where, normally when i upgraded, there was NOTHING written about adding in the database. however it said to remove 1 table which i didn't because extra wont harm, less will.

However, if i am wrong, please ignore
