Subject: Email server question...

Suppose an email server receives an email and in the headers, the originating IP is:

209.423.24.54

What is the default behaviour?

It seems to me that no email server should ever accept that and should immediately delete it. Am I correct?

Depends on the security policy of the server.

Second octet = 423

Its wrong because it needs to be between 0 and 255

But does the email server reject the mail because the IP is impossible?
