I'm sorry if this has been addressed previously, but the keywords I thought of yielded no results, so I figured I'd ask.

It appears topics that are inactive for 90+ days automatically become closed. It is a fairly new forum, and traffic isn't very heavy yet, so topics often sit for extended periods of time.

Our forum admin said,

"For some reason it has an auto close feature and I cannot find the code for it, to disable it.  It seems that if the topic hasn't been posted to in 90 days, it automatically batches the topic and I'm not sure quite how to disable this."

Any help would be greatly appreicated!

There is no automatic feature for this in any of the forum software from this site, it can be done manually, from the admin area, but this is not something done automactically.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm . . . . . . . if there is no automatic feature, he must have somehow did what boyohboy said.

I haven't been able to track down the admin. Must be busy. Anyways, I'll run this by him.

I contacted the admin for the forums. Here's what he said after I posted the given replies here:

"I don't seem to have the Batch Lock feature installed on this forum, so I'm not sure. I looked everywhere and nothing...."

I don't know what version he is running. He hasn't gotten back to me on that yet. He hasn't granted me any moderator or admin rights so I can't go find out myself.

Unless the forum forum has come alive and started writting it's own code their is nothing in the forum to automactically lock posts.

As the batch lock feature, which is part of all the forums isn't reversable, I imagine that the forum admin accidently used the feature without meaning to and is now feeling a bit imbarassed about it all, as he/she can't undo it.

The forum won't automactically do this, so I guess you will have to put up with what ever the forum admin does.
