when new users get the email to activate their account the url is missing the www in front of the domain. Where can I fix this so the link will work properly?

this is a new install of version 7.7a running on a 2000 server without any mods

In the admin section, check the path you have entered to your forum.

There is no reason why then, unless you have a corrupted file or you missed something that the www part of the URL has been removed.

Also try reuploading files again and also try a different mail component as I know CDONTS is bad a chopping bits out of links.

I checked it again. This is really weird. I go through the steps locally I get the full URL in the email. If I have someone go throught the steps from another ISP the URL they get is not correct.

I use CDOSYS with my server. Can you tell me which ASP file handles sending the email so I can check it over?

Well, I can't figure it out. I've looked over almost every file and I can't find anything.

Thats the thing there is nothing in the forum code that would strip the www part.

Maybe trying another component would work, or it cuold be your email client.

That's a good question. I know I'm running Outlook Express 5. I think the others have 6. Maybe there is something different about them.
