Sounds like a corrupted file, try reuploading the file again.

If that fails then really need some mire info, like what OS the site is on and what web server??

u need to re-upload the file that causes the error, and possibly the includes located in that asp file.

line 53 in common.asp should be Session.Timeout = 20 if thats something else, reupload the file or replace the line with Session.Timeout = 20

Line 53 is Session.timeout = 20

Just to make sure I understand.  I should try and replace the file   common.asp?

Thanks again for your everyone.

I would contact your server admin then as it sounds like a server issue.

Also make sure that your site is running on a Windows, with Microsofts IIS web server, if not you can not run this software.

Same problem here on Windows 2003 Std.

Downloaded using "Save as", tried both UK and US mirror.

Everyone granted full control to rule out permission problems.

Gets:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4'

Variable is undefined: 'Session'

/forum/common.asp, line 53

Please stop double posting.

You only need to post once, NOT THREE (3) TIMES!!

Sorry, just wanted to tell those who started the thread that they're not the only one with the problem, they may not have seen the other posts. No need to yell...

I'm eager to get my forum up and running and I think your installation guide lacks some information regarding a Windows 2003 setup. Seems that Web Wiz can't run on IIS6 out of the box.

That is incorrect as it can run on windows 2003 out of the box as it does on my test machine.

The biggest problem when writing software of this kind is making it compatible with running on every type of server with every type of set-up and in every language.

This is almost impossible when witting ASP and the best that can ever be archived is about 98%, there will always be those that will have a server set-up that won't run the software.

On my win2k3 test machine it runs straight from the box without the need to dig inside the IIS setup so I am usure where you will find the part to enable session veriables.

But if you open Internet Information Services from the control panel and have a dig around in the settings, I'm sure it will be in there somewhere.

Also things like Norton, firewalls, virus software, can course certain parts of IIS not to function.
