First , I would like to say that this phenomenon have existed for a long time, recent WWF versions all have this "bug".

Description:
The forum will add space into the post content regularly. After my observation, the space are added every 60 characters. Space does NOT only added into the Chinese character but also letters and figures.

Test:
Now I will seven continuing groups of text "1234567890", please pay attention to the space before the seventh "1":

123456789012345678901234567890123456789012345678901234567890 1234567890

I have to say that this bug is very annoying to Chinese users because Chinese do not add any space between two words while English does. What's more, sometimes when user posted some link in pure text format, the URL text will be interruptted with space.

I checked the forum files carefully but doesn't make any progress. Hope you can tell me how to fix it.

This is not a bug and I spent many days coding and testing the function that splits long text strings at the 60th character so that posts can be line wrapped and you don't end up with long strings messing up the page formatting.

The function also spots things like HTML and forum codes so that HTML links still work and are not split and forum codes are not messed up.

You can change the character at which the string is split by changing the varaiable in functions_filters.asp line 564:-

Const intMaxWordLength = 60

Change 60 to a higher number.

You can avoid this problem by changing property "warp" to "hard", for example:

<textarea name="comment" wrap="hard" id="comment"></textarea>

This is a method to fix your problem for <textarea> control, but I don't know whether this messed-up problem exists in RTE editor..

This is not done for text areas.

It is done for when the post is displayed in an HTML table.

For example if I where to hold down a key a put in a long string without a way to force the string to be wraped in the table you will be doing lost of sideways scrolling:-

bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb bb bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb bbbb bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb
