WWF should have the option in forum configuration to have a forum that does not add posts. e.g when posting in general disscussion you do not get a post added to your profile. This is helpfull where you have a forum with users posting rubbish in general disscussion.

Yes, it may also be very useful for Off Topic forums where generally post counters are turned off.

This is actually an option in quite a few forums where you have a boolean if the forum is a 'test forum' or so, which would not add the post counts.

Yes, I know that, but I think it could be easier for other users that don't write in asp to have a friendly option in config panel.

I don't know if -boRg- agrees on this feature.

Not having a post count may course other stablility problems in other parts of the forum that do things such as deleting members, etc.

If you do this you may find that your forum chrashes.

well, there's nothing to stop a user from just from displaying the post count... still have the post count in the db, just don't display it...

It maybe better just to hde the post count, I think there use to be an option for that in the admin, but maybe I removed it at some point.

But I think that is not the point, I think what they mean is more like let's say weppos makes 238 posts in the testforum, he says those should not be counted against his post count because he is just goofing around there. I don't think it's that important merely a nice feature.

I think he meant not to increase the post count when posting in selected forums.. at least that was what I was thinking
