I followed the isntruction and created a category and 3 forums OK. I tried to post as an adminstrator. All worked well. Then, I tried to register as a different user and I got:

Error Type:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80040E09)
Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.
/forum/register.asp, line 857

I'm running 7.7 Access version locally with XP/IIS 5.1. I checked the properties of the site (Virtual directory), I have it to run script and writeable. How would it be read-only if I could edit category and forums? What do I miss here?

I have no database background with a little knowledge on Access and SQL (went through a tutorial). I have to say this forum application is probably the easiest for me to create. Thanks for the great production.

BTW, what is MOD? Is it just a modification request or a place for people to show their modificaiton of the application??

That error means you have placed your Access database in a read only directory. All you need to do is change the NTFS permissions for that directory. MOD just means modification. In the MOD forum you can post MOD requests and MOD developers can post their MOD's.
