I don’t know if this is a worthy point, but when a admin closes all forums (Lock all forums) the administrator is also locked out form viewing the forums. Why not arrange it so a forum administrator can still gain access to all the forums to clean up and things with a note at the top informing that forums are closed to visitors.

Sorry if this is not worthy but could not find a post (search) on this in this forum.

I could see where this could be useful when reorganizing the forums.

When forums are closed, you can still go to the admin section. Have you tried clicking on one of the "Go To Forum" links there? Don't know id it'd work or not.

ya this is a nice feature...

i added this to my portal a while ago because i needed to see what it looked like when i revamped it. It does come in handy being able to see it when its closed.

I shall look into adding it as it is a very simple feature to add.

OK, I'm a complete noob, and will probably get flamed for asking, but what do you do when you close your board down for administration (i.e. moving posts around, etc) and then lose your network connection?
After restoring the connection, I cannot login in to admin to re-open the board.
Is there a back door, or a work around I should know about to get in?
Thanks in advance for your patience and guidance.

the only back door is the the one where the key in the front doorLOL

the only way to re-open the forum is to open the database (SQL or access) and chage the forum_closed veriable in the configuration table by mouse.LOL

Please note that this is an old thread and if you wanted to relate to this thread you shoukld have created a new topic with a link to this one.
