I have a pretty new forum set up (v7.9) but am confused about how to deal with Private Forums. I would like to assign an 'administrator' for each fprivate forum to another member who could control who is allowed access to that private forum. Can this be done without making them admin for the whole site? Can a forum moderator do this?

Also, I noticed that on this forum, the forum moderators are listed automatically. I do not see that happening on my site. Is it a mod?

Only the admin can change user groups.

You can enable the viewing of forum moderators on the home page from the admin section under the forum configuration page.

Thanks for the quick reply. Your support AND WebWiz Forum code are both awsome! I am looking forward to increased participation on my site thanks to this application.

A suggestion for the next version - add a level of capability between admin and moderator, that allows a 'gatekeeper' to be assigned for the Private forums. This person could add and remove members from the private forum group. Maybe that could just be added to moderator. This would releive the burden of adding members to private forums from the overall administrator.

Maybe an option in the admin section to allow moderators to change members groups would be better.
