	Forgive me it this appears to be a silly question For private messaging to work properly does a valid e-mail address have to be in a posters profile?

	No, PM does not require an email address to work. However, if a member sets the option to receive notifications via email when someone send them a PM then they do have to have a valid email to rec'v that notification.
