Probably set the wrong path to the db, tossed in an extra ", or messed up a Dim/While Statement.

In version 7.8 and 7.9, line 192 is a comment, not a code line. Looks like you may have some mod's in your code. Try posting your code from around line 170 to line 200 so we can see what it looks like. also post waht version you're using and if it's access or mssql.

Also, when you say "i cant write there" do you mean there's a forum or topic here you can't post in? If yes, which forum or topic?

forum/common.asp

The main support forums are moderated - you can post there, but it won't appear until after Bruce or one of the moderators check it out - usually takes less than a day.

o.k i know why i am on aprivate host and this is for a free host

this is the lines

'Set up the forum cookie name
'(This is useful if you run multiple copies of Web Wiz Forums on the same site so that cookies don't interfer with each other)
Const strCookieName = "WWF"

'Encrypted passwords
'This will make your forum unsecure from hackers if you disable this!!!!!
'This can NOT be changed once your forum is in use!!!
'You will also need to directly edit the database to type in the admin password to the Password field in the tblAuthor table at record position 1
'also edit both common.asp files to change this variable
Const blnEncryptedPasswords = true

'Create database connection
'Create a connection odject
Set adoCon = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

'--------------------- Set the path and name of the database ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------

Virtual path to database
strDbPathAndName = Server.MapPath("admin/db/online.mdb")  'This is the path of the database from this files location on the server

'Physical path to database
'strDbPathAndName = "" 'Use this if you use the physical server path, eg:- C:\Inetpub\private\wwForum.mdb

'BRINKSTER USERS (Web Wiz Forums only works with free Brinkster accounts, not for the paid accounts)

can i take the web wiz forum for paid host and put my db ?

thanks PaKa pAkA team

Can you highlight line 192 as not to many paople have access to version 7.5?

Also, put

response.write strDbPathAndName
after you set the Virtual path to the Db and see if the path it displays is actually that for your db.
