    Posted: 22 October 2004 at 10:45am

Hi Everyone

My Forums is running under Windows 2003 IIS 6 and with MS SQL server (sp 3a).

Maximum File Size for uploading files has been set to 2000K

But I can only upload a file with size less than 50K. If a file size bigger than 50K, I always have "HTTP 500 - Internal server error, The page cannot be displayed"

Also, I have set the Connection Timeout on our web site to 3000 seconds. It is very very long.

By the way, When use Window 2000 IIS 5, I did not have the problem.

Help

Thank you

Lin

Turn off friendly HTTP errors in IE so you get what the actual error is.

Looks like a permissions problem.

Try looking up this error on the web site of whichever component you are trying to use (you didn't say) to upload image/files.

My guess though is that you do not have write permissions on the upload directory.

Hi Administrator,

Thank you for your reply. I am trying to upload files. The error happens only when I upload a file which size is bigger than 50k. A small size file has no problem to be uploaded. But I will check permissions on the upload directory.

Thank you again.

What upload facility are you using? COM, pureASP, what?

Where have you changed the maximum size for uploads?

If you are using a pureASP type of script, IIS6 has a limit of 200 KB for binaries passed this way, you have to change it in the Metabase, search for (AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed) on Google.

Hi Administrator

Thank you very much.

It works very well after changing the value of ASPMaxRequestEntityAllowed.

Thank you again.

Hi linnai,
can you please tell where from and how (which mod) are you using the pureASP upload component? I would like to enable uploads on a hosted web with no access to installable components.

Thanks, JaSa
