    Posted: 09 October 2004 at 2:15pm

Hello there,

I am getting the following error message when trying to upload a file or image.

Server.MapPath() error 'ASP 0174 : 80004005'

Invalid Path Character(s)

/Forum/forum/functions/functions_upload.asp, line 77

An invalid '/' or '\' was found in the Path parameter for the MapPath method.

Can anybody help me solve this one?
I have searched the Internet but did' t find the solution yet.

Thanks

Check the path to your uploads folder is correct.

Hello,

Oke, I have checked the path , but don't know what format it must have. For example, must it be something like: http://www.mysite.com/forum/images/upload
Or must it be different, like: //inetpub/wwwroot/forum/images/upload

I am using Windows Webserver 2003. IIS 6.0. ASP enabled. Frontpage Extensions enabled.

I have tried both ways but did didn't solve the problem.

It needs to be a relative path from the main forum files.

For example if it is a folder called uploads in the image folder from the main forum files it would be:-

images/upload

The default folder is the uploads folder off the root of the main forum files with 'uploads' entered as the path.
