I see back in roughly 9.50 or so, "logging" was put in place.
How is that used?
I've logged in as administrator and looked all over the place and see nothing about logs, logging, enabling logging, WHAT gets logged, etc.
How does the logging work - how is it enabled - but more importantly, WHAT gets logged?
Thanks

Logging is turned on in the setup_options_inc.asp file in the "includes" folder.

It will log actions that mods take such as deleting topics, which is stored in log files in a folder.

To access them you would need to look at your forum via FTP to see them.

Ah, so it's not in the control panel area.
That's fine - my FTP app will let me open and view or even edit files directly inside the app...........

Thanks - I'll look for that file....

Logging works great, thanks - however, now I have ANOTHER question!
I see every day lines like this in the log files - is this a concern, or normal, or what?

This IP shows up a lot, but it also seems to happen with several other IP addresses - there are a number of SQL injection errors

These are straight from our log files:

2009-04-27 04:50:49 - 118.78.27.77 - Guest - ERROR - File: functions_filters.asp - Error Details: err_SQLServer_SqlInjectionTest() -  -
2009-04-27 04:51:16 - 118.78.27.77 - Guest - ERROR - File: functions_filters.asp - Error Details: err_SQLServer_SqlInjectionTest() -  -
2009-04-27 04:51:17 - 118.78.27.77 - Guest - ERROR - File: functions_filters.asp - Error Details: err_SQLServer_SqlInjectionTest() -  -

At a rough guess I would say welcome to the club of some people trying to inject coding

2009-03-16 07:06:41 - 121.23.120.49 - Guest - ERROR - File: functions_filters.asp - Error Details: err_SQLServer_SqlInjectionTest() -  -
2009-03-16 07:06:42 - 121.23.120.49 - Guest - ERROR - File: functions_filters.asp - Error Details: err_SQLServer_SqlInjectionTest() -  -
2009-03-16 07:06:43 - 121.23.120.49 - Guest - ERROR - File: functions_filters.asp - Error Details: err_SQLServer_SqlInjectionTest() -  -

The good news is though that you can see the IP address (as in my example above) similar to your own, and in your case the IP is logged from China, and funnily enough so is mine
You could just add the IP to your banned list or just rejoice in the fact that the software is great and whilst these people tried injecting malicious code into your forum it failed LOL
