I am using Access 2000.  I have imported my users and have encryption off.  This is the same routine I have used 4 times in the past year successfully.

I just removed the summer users from the db and added my fall users.

Now after a user logins and attemps to post they are given this error message:

"Sorry, you must be a registered forum member in order to post in this forum."

What have I done?

Could be a corrupted file, try re uploading the files again.

Also, particularly with access, you should use encryption on your forum to prevent your forum from being hacked.

I am currently running version 7.7: if I update to 7.9 can I keep the existing database?

I have the forum behind an SSL wall to protect it.  I chose not to encrypt to easily add and remove the users (2000 - 3000 per semester)

There are no database changes so just replace the files.

You should do this as soon as possiable as a security hole was found that has been published on a hackers web site and allot of unpatched installations are being hacked.
