We use our Web Wiz forum as a means of presenting technical documents and articles.
We have had difficulty formatting tables and noticed a lack of superscript for footnotes (beyond 1,2,3 in special characters).

to insert tables I have to make them in Word and then copy and paste. The issue comes with trying to size the tables. Also with the copy and paste method the font, size, and format will change within the article. This requires some highlighting and re-formatting.

We have RTE version 4.18 and I see there is a version 4.17 which the demo shows more functionality.
Is there some way to integrate some of the additional functionality of the RTE into the forum?

The RTE used in the forum is the same as the standalone Web Wiz RTE.

Due to integration you can not update the RTE in Web Wiz Forums on it's own.

In Web Wiz Forums some of the options of the RTE are disabled that are not used usually use in forums.

You can enable extra features in Web Wiz Forums RTE by editing the file below in notepad;

\RTE_configuration\RTE_setup.asp

To enable the Add Table button you would change the following line to 'true';

Const blnInsertTable = false

The forum does remove allot of formatting, this is for security reasons to prevent your forum being hacked by hackers copy and pasting dangerous code in to forum posts.

Bruce, As always your help is greatly appreciated.

For clarification, is the formatting that is removed by the forum software to prevent hacking a separate issue from turning on the table function?

Meaning I am not increasing the risk of hacking by turning on this feature.

Tables should be fine, they are disabled as most people would not be creating tables in forum posts.

Copy and pasting does not work so well as formatting is often stripped when the security filters run.
