hi all,

my webhosts have jmail installed and also gave me smtp server. still i cant send mails. can anybody tell wats the problems ?

Make sure to have selected JMail component into Forum Email Configuration.

U also need to put a valid SMTP outgoing server for the mail in the right form and a valid Email address.

I did. i gave SMTP and valid email too still i didnt get any activation emails.

Check with your hosts.

They may have some delay issues with their SMTP server, or they may not allow you to send emails to non-local email accounts.

I dont think they have delay bcuz i signed up 5days ago and still didnt recieve activation mail so had to disable it

Most probably, they dont allow mails to non local accounts but what account should they enable so that forum can run ?

This is something that you need to take up with your web hosts.

They are the ones that setup the SMTP server and decide in what way that you can use it.

If the emails are not comming through to you contact them, if an error is not comming up when the email is sent form the forum then it is a problem at your hosts end.
