My forum uses Microsoft Access as database and I'm getting this error currently:


Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while writing to the database.
Please contact the Forum Administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_Access_getSessionData()_delete_session_data
File Name:- functions_session_data.asp
Forum Version:- 11.01


Any ideas?

It could be that the Access database is corrupted.

To fix the issue you would need to download the access database and open it in Microsoft Access and use the Compact and Repair Tool, then reupload the database.

If you are using the forum on a busy website I would advise moving to SQL Server to prevent these types of issues that can occur with using Access.

I've done the compact and repair a few times in the past few days and it doesn't seem to fix the issue, so perhaps it's time to move the forum to SQL server like you say

Access is fine for a small forum where you might have a handful of visitors a day, but not at the same time.

Anything more than this then you should really look at using SQL Server which can cope with 1,000's of visitors at the same time and millions of posts.
