Can anyone help with String functions.

How can I 'step' through a string (using a loop) to search for a particular char. I need to be able to reference each letter in turn.

strToCheck = here's the string

For i = 1 to Len(strToCheck)
    ThisChar = Mid(strToCheck,i,1)
    do your comparison/check here
