This suggestion has probably already been made and if it hasn't and it is a good idea then it is probably too late for this version, but I will mention it anyway.

I am friends with the developer of one of the leading PHP forums - I am an ASP developer and so I don't actually run the PHP forum but he has shown be some of the forums selling points.

Its main selling point on the technical side is the backend of the forum.

It is possible to change all the styles via forms in the backend end. I think this would be a good idea for this forum. Possibly something similar to the system used in the guestbook.  Maybe have some kind of WYSIWYG system.

What do you think?

It's a good idea.

I have also viewed this sistem in another forum (ASP) and it's very easy to change, the colors, the font and all the other parameters of the forum-graphics. It was the only good thing in this other ASP Forum

but this forum has "Skins" and you just change the Skin_File.inc to change the look - and am guessin if you change it via Forms - then it will put it in the database - and am guessing (as i dont know) that this will be pretty bad on performance for an Access Database and would mean a new table - which means longer to wait for the final release  which i doubt most of the members want!

anyway i have no idea wot it would do to the performance but am guessin it wont be good - hence the reason Borg use's a include file

ive made a mod where i can let my users change the Skin of the forum

as used Skins for my site - just 1 skin wouldnt fit the style of all of them - so i changed a couple lil things and now the Forum Skin changes with my Site Skin .... kool huh

It would be possible to make an FSO editor for the skin.inc file (I think) its beyond me, but its possible... It was something that I was looking at myself... never got anywhere of course...

BTW anyone who listens to music whilst doin the web biz should take a glance at

no affiliation, but it makes working easier...
<off topic>

Looking forward to the thing being released, I check this place nearly 7 times a week...

Well on an older version of the forum I was talking about earlier the actual style sheet can up in a form and you could edit it online.
