hi all

i've been using the 6.28 version for about 2 years.  i know i should upgrade and i'll do it soon, but all of a sudden a problem arose.

i can log in as admin, open and delete topics and use the inbox, but when i press the link to the admin menu on the header, i lose my admin identity and i get to the insufficient_permission page.  i also cannot access any of the inner admin pages directly (by writing the full address).  when i go back to the previous page, my admin identity is already gone (the welcome line says just "welcome" with no name after that, or option to log in).

this has happened all of a sudden.  i did change the header file recently (only added some plain text), if that matters.  i didn't change any cookie preference on my browser, and this happens from another computer as well.

any ideas?  i saw some topics here about something similar, but i don't think i wanna erase the forum and start over.  it's currently used by many users.  if anyone wants, this is the address: www.4girls.co.il/newforum (it's an israeli site in hebrew).

thanks.

Try upgrading to the latest version and see if that solves the problem.

It should be ralativly simple with the Access version as there is a migartion tool on the download page.

There's a theorum called "Occam's Razor" which states that given all possible explanations for something, the simplest is the most probable. - you change something in header - other things in header don't work.

But, as -boRg- noted, upgrading is the thing to do. Much better performance and security.
