It's that time of year again when I go around changing the copyright year in the includes for html pages. Don't have to do it for asp pages though as they have this include at the end of the page...
<!--#include virtual="/inc/copyright.asp"-->

/inc/copyright.asp contains this code...
<div class="copyright">Copyright &copy; 2000-<%=Year(Date)%>, CompanyName. All Rights Reserved</div>

CSS class looks like this...
.copyright { font-size: 75%; text-align: center; margin-top: 20px; margin-bottom:10px; }

Better to use  &copy; instead of ©. Works better with XML.

Back in the days before I knew better, I made some sites with .htm/.html home pages. Can't change them now to end in a scripting extension like asp, php, or aspx without having to do a lot of redirects for the search engines. For those sites, I have to annually update includes.

Now, for windows sites, I try to use a .asp extension on all pages that just contain html to cover extingencies like this. The asp processor on the server can handle html so there's no signigicant time lost. With the php processor, it flip-flops between itself anf the windows server html processor so pure html pages take a little longer to render with a php extension.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.
