Just setup a test forum (v7.9) on my Windows 2003 server with MSSQL 2000 at http://forum.wiedeyes.com however the registration does not want to work.
 
Try to reg and the security code is only intermitently shown, so some of the images are broken, plus if you do get to register (you manage to get a full set of security numbers) then it says "Sorry, only members with sufficient permission can access this page.
" after you submit the form.
 
Any suggestions?

This could be because of a number of reasons covered in quite a few posts on this subject, but usually this would be a session problem with the server not keeping the session alive.

If you are using windows 2003 a patch on the OS so that it handles sessions correctly maybe required (the exact details are in other posts if you do a search)

It could be that you have another application running on the site that terminates the session, like a chat room app.

Another course could be sever problems, whereby the server keeps dropping the sessions.

Balanced servers, or a server farm can course problems with sessions being transferred between the servers.
