    Posted: 15 May 2005 at 1:44pm

I am using WWF 7.9 MSSQL version and I have encountered a problem I can't seem to find a solution to in the support forums.  When a user logs into my site and creates a new topic or reply in the Rich Text Editor (WYSIWYG) once they post it shows the HTML tags in the body they just posted. This is also happening with my admin account as well.

I can preview the post and everything looks correct but once I post it shows the </BR> and </P>  and other tags in the post... Any ideas?

I can turn off the Rich Text Editor in the Forum Configuration and it works fine. I would love to be able to keep the Rich Text Editor on for my users.

Thanks in advance!

To follow up... I have a second forum running on the same server and it is not having this issue. Weird but true... Is there an .asp file that I can replace to correct this?

Confused

Sounds like you may have a corrupted file somewhere, try reuploading the original files again and see if that solves the problem.

Thanks for responding. Are there certain files that can be individually uploaded that relate to the WYSIWIG editor? I would like to be able just to replace only those certain files rather than the whole site as I have done modifications to the look and feel of my site.  I have not modified any core ASP files only the skin files and images.

Thanks for the help.

First try re-uploading those files that you haven't modified.

Thank you for the assistance... I uploaded all of the file but excluded the ones i modified and it worked.  I did have to make a few changes to get my look back to "normal" but who cares.. it works!

Ok now another weird problem has popped up with the RTE.... only admin users get the RTE when they try to post or reply. All of my other users get just the basic editor including moderators. What the crap?
Anybody know what could be going on?

The WYSIWYG Editor can be enabled and disabled in both the admin section (for all users) and in individual users profile.

Make sure that your users have both of these enabled.
