    Posted: 20 July 2005 at 10:22pm

I set up the forum, everything seems to work okay.

When a new user registers, they get an e-mail notification. But when I try to mass e-mail from the administration menu, the program acts like it sends an e-mail but the users don't get anything. It's like the e-mail is going off into never never land.

Any ideas?

if the email features work on all other features, i would say you

1.have a cap on the number you can send a day
2. have a corrupt file, try re uploading.
3. your host has a limit on the number you can send in one go.

also check if the user is getting them added to a spam folder etc.

I'm only trying to send a mass e-mail to the two users I have in the system. I'm going to see if I can create another user and see if that user gets a welcome e-mail.

Maybe my mail server shut my web server off. I have all the equipment in my basement so I have total access. I have Win 2003 with Exchange Server 2003. When you have Exchange Server 2003 installed, the standard IIS6 SMTP Server is removed.

Any other thoughts?

Well, I added another user and that user got a welcome e-mail. So that e-mail works. So I'm still getting my Exchange Server 2003 to send the e-mail.

I tried to send a mass e-mail but nothing happened. It says they are being sent but they never arrive. Maybe I'll check the event log on the server.
