It sounds like a cookie or session issue with your site.

Check that your site can accept cookies, and that you are not using frames, URL/IP masking, etc.

Once you are satisfied you can use cookies, then I would look at this being a session issue on the server (I think this more likly)

If you have applications that use sesison.abandon, then this will course sessions for your site to fail.

It could also point to a bigger problem with the server not holding ASP sessions, such as app pool recycling, also use an App Pool Farm will course sessions to not work.

I have been working on a new system for the forum that will mean that you will not need cookies to use the forum, which will solve this issue for a number of users.

I found out the real problem! ....  its my firewall ..  I am using ZoneAlarm  Pro v6.0 ..  I tried disabling the privacy feature in ZA ( which blocks cookie) ..but still I was facing dat prob .. Once I shut down my ZA completely than the Forum works fine ... but if I start ZA again ..it agains behaves like dat (even if I put settings to allow all cookies) .... is it a bug in v8 as In v7.96 I never faced susch a problem .. I use v7.96 wid ZA on ( and privacy setting set to Medium ).. and it works fine .....

The way cookies are used to login a user is the same on v8 beta 1 as on version 7.96 and 7.97.

As beta 2 will have a completly new login system it maybe worth waiting for taht to come out beofre testing the login fetaures of version 8 for any issues.
