Slow mainpage all of a sudden

All of a sudden today I am getting slow page load time ( like 5.X seconds ) on the mainpage. The time for other pages seem fine it's just the default page. I do have some mods but they have been there for a long time and i tested a default page with no mods and i still get the same generation time so it must be something with the DB. Yesturday i was getting under one second for a page generation and todayy it's above 5. I haven't made any changes to the page or the server. It's running on SQL 2000 database. yes its good now, thanks for the response. I ended up restoring the database back to this morning before i noticed the problem and it is fast again. Something apparently corrupted the DB.

0.2 seconds for me on the main forum index page.

However, you should be able to at least half this if you upgrade to version 8
