While this might not be for everyone, some people might want to sign up at a new software organization, the
OISV (Organization of ISVs).
It's founded by Nick Longo and Scott Swedorski from CoffeeCup Software.
It's a new support organization for software authors (mISVs / uISVs / microISVs) and I know a lot of people here could really benefit from it.
It doesn't matter if you write/sell desktop, client/server, or web based software. But if you are an author, then I'm sure that you'll appreciate it.
The new organization will be private and there will be a review process for authors, so not everyone will be eligible.
For example, Bruce will be eligible as he writes software and has a web site.
If you do SI / consulting, then I think that you're also eligible.
"John Doe" is not eligible because he is only a user and does not write software and has no web site.
Basically, it's an organization for professionals or those aspiring to be professionals (i.e. Making money from their software) that are currently either writing as a hobby or for fun.
