For those of you that are UP on the hard drive market may have seen this..

http://www.seagate.com/cda/newsinfo/newsroom/releases/article/0,,3183,00.html..

Now that has got to be one of the worst things to have happened in the industry.. Seagate are CRAP and Maxtor are briiliant.  The only drives I ever use are MAXTOR and now it looks like I will be forced to use a seagate..

Lets just hope that Seagate drives become better now that they have bought an awesome company..

Think this is worth digging ?

I've never had a problem with Seagates, and would buy them again.

Well, I have had one problem. I bought a Seagate drive, got a S.M.A.R.T. error and went to return it. Boom! They replaced it on the spot no questions asked. Made me happy. I mentioned this at Panasonic Sucks on the front page. Good customer service will garner my loyalty for a brand.

Huwnet,

From listening to TWiT, Kevin Rose seems like an ok guy. Why do you hate DIGG?

Thanks guys for the comments.. I see that someone else has already DUGG this.

In all my years in IT, I have never had a good seagate.  Almost every broken drive I have in my cabinet is a seagate, some are Samsung and a couple are Western Digital.  NONE are MAXTOR.. and I dont recall ever seeing a bad maxtor.
