This latest release is a security release for Web Wiz Forums that improves the security of the ‘HTML Safe’ malicious code filters to protect against new XSS Hacking techniques.

This version also fixes the the issue where images posted in IE did not always display the correct dimensions, alternative text, title, etc.

It is recommended that ALL users (including version 7) upgrade to the latest version as soon as possible, to ensure that their forum is fully secure from XSS Hacking.

This release complies with our policy to have a new release within 24 hours of any security vulnerabilities found, with this release being within 4 hours of the initial finding.

Upgrading from version 8.03
To patch or upgrade from version 8.03 replace the file 'functions/functions_filters.asp' and 'includes/version_inc.asp' with those from the 8.04 zip file.

Upgrading from version 8.0x
To upgrade from other 8.0x version please see the version history file that comes with Web Wiz Forums for a full list of updated files.

Upgrading from version 7.x
For version 7.x users please use the database upgrade tool found on the download page to upgrade your version 7.x database to version 8.x. Full upgrade instructions for version 7.x users can be found with this tool.
