I don’t think the E-Mail notification system works correctly. I think that if someone wants to receive Notification of replies it should only send one E-Mail out even if there are 10 replies. And also if someone was watching a post and decide to turn E-Mail notification off all together, they should not receive any more E-Mail.

 

The way the notification system works not. If a new user has E-Mail notification turned on and makes a post he will receive every reply in his E-Mail box. If he goes in to his profile and turns off E-Mail notification and another 10 people reply to his first topic. He will get another 10 E-Mails saying he has a reply. Not only dose this make users mad but it’s a waste of bandwidth.

personally I like the fact that it emails you everytime someone replies, great for watching how a thread progresses without having to view the site

I agree about turning off ntifications though, it should do it for all messages.

The who put in having an Email Notification is so that you get an email for each new reply. Having it setup so it only replyes once would just require allot more coding and would break the whole meaning of having an Email Notification.

But i do agree that if you turn it off in your profile it should turn off all the Email Notification's you have set in the past.

Yeah I see your point I follow posts all the time with just the E-Mail.

I Bet it would be easy to make a small mod that will check if Email Notification's are turned on before sending the mail. I will have to sit down and play with it this weekend. Im sure it will be just a simple few lines

If Email Notification's turned on

    Send email

Else
End IF

You know what I mean.
