Have just installed v. 8.05.

A couple of forum users report the emoticon window not coming up on cue.

One of these users also can't get the drop-down menu that allows you to jump to other forums to work.

Any ideas what might be causing these problems?

Both of these items use Javscript which is required to use the forum software.

Have your users check that Javascript is running correctly on their browsers and they do not have their security settings setup to block Javascript.

One user still can't get the emoticons to work.  She's using Javascript 1.3 and it seems to be working okay.

Since everyone else isn't having this problem, I assume it's in her individual machine, but where?

Thanks for your help so far.

Any further suggestions?

Often security settings in the browser, firewall, av, and internet security software can prevent javascript from running.

The only way to etll is disable each of these types of software till you find the one that is coursing the problems, then have a look in that software fr any whitelisting or other settings that would allow javascript to work fully for your site.
