Did I explain that correctly?
Another car forum I'm a member of has folks post images, but when they click on the image, it pops up the larger or full-size version of that image in a new browser window, saving bandwidth and post size, etc.

Say I have images that are 1 meg in file size, and are 2100x whatever, but I want the forum post to show an image that's 40k in size and 400x whatever.
Then when they see the post, and they want to view the full-size version (and wait for it to download!) they click the smaller file in the post and a new window opens showing the full-size image, the whole 1 meg file.

Not everyone is going to want to see the full size of all of these images, this way they get a preview in the message and click if they REALLY want to see the huge file.

How can that be done?

You mean thumbnails right?

Not sure how its done, but its definitely a feature I would like to see also. Atleast allow us the option to turn thumbnail view on/off.

Would love to include this, trouble is there is no native support for this in ASP and very few server side components support this.

It is something that is planned for an ASP.NET version, as so often now we are hitting the limitations of using ASP.

Well, here's what I did - I took the originals, which are scans from AMC archives, and used Paintshop (or Fireworks on my other computer) and created smaller versions that fit forum posts better.
I then went to create new post, put the smaller image in the post, highlighted it, and chose insert hyperlink and put in the URL to the larger image.
Now the post shows the smaller image, but if they click it, a new window opens with the larger image. That's what I was looking for, but was hoping for an easier way.
Well, at least now I know, and I also have a "work-around". I suspect it's rather complex to put that right into the forum, so will relax and do it this way for now.
Is there an easier way to do what I mentioned above?
Here's my sample! This is going to be SO cool. This fellow has much AMC history to share..... and has chosen us to post it in.

Borg, is the next version of WWF going to be an asp.net version? Or are you still planning some more versions using classic asp?

I made a video on how to quickly and easily resize your photos before uploading. It can be found here.

This should help anyone who doesn't know how to upload pictures to a forum. I made a video with point and click instructions on how to do it. The link can be found here.
