Very rare for this type of error in Firefox as it is very robust compaired with IE and cookie and session handling.
Make sure that cookies are enabled in Firefox and try cleaning out the cookie cache.

IE's cookie handling is a known bug with the browser, even Microsoft on a number of their own sites recommend the cleaning out of the cookie cache to fix issues.
You should also try using 9.04 as the cookies are updated less often so may not become corrupted quite so easily.

I had a problem the other day clearing the cookies in IE (after moving from 9.03 to 9.04). Could this be the same thing?
