    Posted: 18 September 2008 at 12:51am
I just installed version 9.51 webwizforum and got the SQL database setup okay. Following the instrucution I changed the permissions on the "forum" folder as indicated and went to fire up the website. I got the infamous "HTTP/1.1 New Application Failed" error. I looked at a bunch of forum posts but they all seemed directed to IIS 4 and 5. I'm running IIS 6 and have ASP running. Anyone have a clue where to turn? Yup I'm a newbie at this forum stuff but I usually can figure something out in time but this one has me stumped. HELPPPPPPP!!!!! LOL

This has nothing to do with Web Wiz Forums but rather an issue with your server.

These types of errors can take hours to track down what is coursing them by crawling through Microsoft sites like MSDN.

It's often quicker in a non product environment to uninstall then reinstall IIS

I'll try it. My website isn't up yet till I can get the forum going. My main page done in Frontpage works fine. So as for the hours to track down, yup I could tell that as soon as I saw all the posts about it....lol

I'll get back to ya, thanks.Cool
