The previous version worked better....

The new version has the app for uploading the image, and it seems to have some problems.  When you upload an image and then try to set the horizontal and vertical, it wrecks the image every time, turning it into a few dozen pixels wide by lots of pixels long.

If you just leave it at the defaults, then click on the image in the text editor, and attempt to resize using the click-and-drag on the corners of the image, it will allow you to resize the image to what you want, but those changes are lost when you post.  This used to work wonderfully well in the previous version.

This may all be a browser issue, dunno.  But suffice it to say, the previous version of the image upload seemed much more reliable, and the previous version of the image editing within the text editor WORKED, while the current version does not.

Also, there appears to be no way to delete a file once uploaded.  Like if you want to modify the file, by uploading a new version of same file.  It wont let you overwrite the existing, and no way to delete the existing, so kinda unwieldy.

I think users can delete files their own files via the "Member Control Panel", File Manager?
(Admins/mods can get there by editing going through the motions of editing the profile for the user in question.)

I dont allow uploading on my forums so I cant be 100%.

Yes users can delete their own files through their profile area as Scotty says and choose File Manager, and admin certainly can delete any files uploaded

OK. Lesson learned, thanks.  Suggestion - this function should be added within the upload interface.

Original point - why doesnt the image resize work?  Am I just using it incorrectly?  On version 8, it was graphical - select the image, drag the corner or side and it resized, but now it bounces back to actual size.  ?

Well I'm not sure why you should have problems because we use 9.55 and I just uploaded an image, re-sized using the editor, and posted the re-sized image with no issues. When the image has uploaded, then see the width and height attributes - just change them to the image size you want and then click OK

When you post the reply, you should see that the image has been re-scaled by right hand clicking on the actual image after posting, and select properties. In the example above the properties tells me original size plus rescaled to...

Does that help?
