How long is a piece of string...

Dear WWG peoples

I'm wondering what size people's databases are getting to for these forums?  For example, these forums - before I started writing this post - had 3798 Forum members with 1244 Posts in 252 Topics in 15 Forum(s).  How big is this database, borg, if you don't mind sharing that with me?

At the moment my own forum is quite small - and will probably never grow too large - but I'm just trying to get an idea of db sizes.

If anyone would care to give me information on their db sizes (including number of members, posts et al), I'd be most appreciative.

Rantz

I'm using an SQL server database with many other tables in it for other things, so I can't accuratly tell you but at present it is 7.5Mb, of course also being SQL server it is going to be different and half of that is probally from other tables that run form the same database.

My largest one www.rexpage.com/cotp/forum is currently 2.8MB with 1644 posts and 44 members running on Access 2000. Of course, I need to trim it down some but it still runs great. I have really enjoyed the WWG!

Thanks muchly to everyone who has replied to my query.  Whilst having used Web Wiz Forums for a few months, and this specific WWG forum for a little over a month, I'm incredibly impressed with the community feeling that exists here.

THanks -boRg- and all the rest.

to agree with borg here.. when i created an empty sql2000 db it was 2mb.  as soon as the tables and data were implimented, it shot up to 7.5 mb.  looks like theres a big buffer, seeing as this forum has 1250 posts and mine has 2 since i set it up a few hrs ago =)
++ jim..

The forum I currently run has the following :

1600 Users
Between 160 - 200 new posts/topics per day
Roughly 40000 posts/topics total
Database size is 55mb

I'ts been running fine up until recently,  but I ( and the users ) are starting to notice a little slowdown.
