I have just updated to 3.60 from 3.56 and uploaded all the files in binary with CuteFTP.

However, when trying to run the new setup wizard all I am getting now is:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01f4'

Variable is undefined: 'strDbTable'

/Forum/functions/functions_login.asp, line 328

I have kept my old database_connection.asp settings and added them to the upgrade. Any ideas what is causing this? I should mention I am using the SQLServer 2008 edition.

I believe you mean 9.60 not 3.60, unless you are still back with a version from 2002.

The problem you are having is that you are trying to keep your old database/database_connection.asp. If you have a quick look through the version history file you will see this file has been changed.

All the files in the 'database' folder have been changed to support the new  install/upgrade wizard.

you need to update the files in the 'database' folder and then the new install/upgrade wizard will automatically startup when you go to the forum and allow you to enter online your database connection details, it will then setup the connection string and update the database if needed for you.

Of course, I meant 9.60 ... I changed the connection setting to the default download and re-input this on the setup using all the standard default settings, which worked perfectly. Thanks for the help.

However, I am trying to set up a NewsPad integration and I keep getting an error:
The database conbnection has been tested.

A connection to the database has been established but an error has occurred while attempting to open the database table.

Please check you are connecting to a Web Wiz Forums database, and that the table prefix is correct.

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Invalid object name 'tblAuthor'.

Whilst the Forum DOES use tblAuthor and all the defaults this seems to be failing for some reason. Is it because I am SQL 2008? I really would like to get Newspad to work with this installation.

It won't be because you are using SQL Server 2008.

The problem sounds like you are connecting to the wrong database. Make sure the database you are connecting to is the Web Wiz Forums database and not the newspad one.

If you are still stuck start a new topic in the newpad forum.
