Thanks for this release... I was about to test it on my site but I'm a bit confused.

Have the 3 editions of WebWiz Forums (SQL, MySQL, & Access) been combined into one download, or am I missing something?!

I believe they have all been merged into one as there is now a new Setup system which I believe you select your database in.

If you are upgrading then you would be using your existing database_connection.asp file as so all database settings would be preserved.

It does appear there is only one WWF download now and that it now provides an upgrade facility in which you specify your type of database (Access MySQL, MSSQL) and the previous forum (database) version.

Consequently, the existing database_connection.asp file is not used (manually). Instead, the upgrade program asks for your connection info and enters it appropriately for you.

Interesting.. Thanks guys...

I tried using the existing database connection files and also modified the other file with the database connection parameters, etc. for my MS-SQL database. Now I'm getting this error:

Server Error in Forum Application
An error has occurred while executing SQL query on database.
Please contact the forum administrator.

Support Error Code:- err_SQLServer_UnreadPosts()
File Name:- functions_common.asp

Error details:-
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server
Invalid object name 'Topic'.

Was I supposed to run the wizard first?

Quote 24. database/database_connection.asp - file changed to support new online setup
25. database/database_settings.asp - new file to hold the database connection settings

Sorry, appears I was wrong, I haven't had chance to upgrade my forums yet so wasnt sure how to upgrade exactly - just assumed it was the same as previous versions.

From the above I would imagine that you keep the forums database_connection.asp file and edit the database_settings.asp file.

Though maybe somebody who has already upgraded could post the process for you?

Don't edit anything. Just run the upgrade facility...install the new pages and go to the forum and it starts automatically (probably due to lack of database info).

Ok it works now... thanks again guys.

However, I noticed that the upgrade wizard will NOT run unless the IUSER account has write/modify permission to the 'database' folder. I understand why this would be required for a forum that uses MS Access, but I'm using MS-SQL... why is this required? Can someone explain this please?
