I am having progressively more problems with spammers signing up to the two webwiz forums that I manage.  What options and alternatives do I have to reduce this?  Is registration moderation possible?  I cant find it in the admin.  What other alternatives are there?

I created a group specifically for spammers that holds all their posts for moderation.  I did this as an alternative to banning them, since banning them just results in them signing up for a new account anyway.  Most of the time they do not notice they were put into that user group, so they never get the benefit of their posts, since they never appear to the public.

In our case, we called it "Brig Awardee" since we use Pirate/Navy ranks on our forums.  It's Navy-speak for a person put in jail.  Wonder how many people figured that out without Googling it.

I also use this for trouble-makers who I want to monitor their posts, but who do not warrant a full banning.
