I have noticed that whenever a member makes a post or edits a post, they automatically become subscribed to receive email notification about that topic, as shown in the member control panel subscription tab. I looked in the admin control panel to see if I accidentally set something that would cause this but could not find anything -- please advise.

The checkbox to be subscribed to email notifications when replying to posts will only be automatically checked if you have selected the following in your forum profile:-

Notify me of replies to posts

This is set on a per member biases and to turn it on or off for your account you need to edit your forum profile.

By default this option is set to Off.

Bruce,

Thank you so much!!

Is this is a bug or is it just me? I downloaded a fresh copy of WWF and opened the file register.asp and found this around line 1930:
  <input type="radio" name="replyNotify" id="replyNotify" value="True" <% If blnReplyNotify = True Then Response.Write "checked" %> tabindex="31" />&nbsp;&nbsp;<% = strTxtNo %><input type="radio" name="replyNotify" id="replyNotify" value="False" <% If blnReplyNotify = False Then Response.Write "checked" %> tabindex="32" /></td>

So it's making it the default for any new member.

The value of true you are looking at is the value if the radio button is clicked, not the default setting.
