On my forum when I click on the forgotten password link it sends me to the forms default page.  Why is this?  Sould it go to the forgotten password link.  I even tryied the url forum/forgotten_password.asp

I am using ver 9.68.

*I think* this has to do with the email component that the forum is trying to utilize, is not installed on the server, or a permission issue related to the email component in question.

yeah, I forgot to setup the email part of the forum when I upgraded the site from 9.5 to 6.9.

If you are unable to request a new password by email then the last option is to manually reset the password in the database following the steps below:-

   1. Open the database in a database management tool
   2. Open the database table 'tblAuthor'
   3. Find record with the 'Author_ID' with the value of '1', this is your Admin Account record
   4. Copy and paste the following to the 'Username' field:-

          administrator

   5. Copy and paste the following to the 'Password' field:-

          A85B3E67CFA695D711570FB9822C0CF82871903B

   6. Copy and paste the following to the 'Salt' field:-

          72964E7

   7. Your Web Wiz Forums Admin Account username and password should now be reset to:-
          * Username: administrator
          * Password: letmein
