Can I disable the secure number code feature completely (as in never use it during registration)?

Searched before I posted. Searched and learned a lot of interesting things. None, alas, answered my question.

I am on a W2003 server. Could its security "features" be involved in my difficulties:

users can't register becuase the security code numbers don't all display and when they sometimes do, the program returns a message that the number entered didn't match!

admins can only log on after repeated efforts, 8 to 10 being common. I know the un/pw are right and I have to just repeat until they "take".

lovely product, glad to have paid for it to encourage you, but if no one can register, no one will use your lovely program on my site.

my provider is an ASP and ASP.NET booster, we like to support ASP projects, we're sorry if these questions are distracting, but we always check (search) before bothering because we know we don't like to answer the same thing over and over either.

fyi, no one has asked aobu the number graphics failing to display and being reported by the function as not matching

all this is on a clean install of the latest package by the way

if it is just us and our W2003 server and doesn't impact on any other potential users, I'll understand if you're too busy to deal with it.

In common.asp there is a variable set it to true or false depending on what you want.

I only saw this variable:

blnLongSecurityCode = false

which is the way it comes by default

and yet the security code graphical number display still operates (no matter which way I set the value)

I assume this is the code in question because it's defined this way:

Dim blnLongSecurityCode  'Set to true if the security code feature is required when logging in

The security code is always there on the registration page, unless you recode that page.

The security code uses a session variable to store the number displayed in graphics.

If for any reason something running on your server is coursing sessions to be dropped then this will mess up the security code.

It could be the way the server is setup that is coursing the session to be dropped, or it could be another application that uses Session.Abandon that will course sessions to be dropped site wide.
