    Posted: 22 June 2004 at 2:36pm

I successfully downloaded the adware program (aaw6181) from download.com to my desktop.  When I click on the icon the installation wizard will not work.  In short, I cannot install the program.

I'm not a computer whiz, but understand the basics.  Any help here would be appreciated.

Thanks.

No error messages are shown.  When I double click the icon, the installation wizard box will display on the screen for a couple seconds and then disappear.  Nothing else happens and my computer returns to the desktop screen.

check your event logs, make sure you have admin rights to install etc. Close down other apps (including Icons on Tray)

I've always used both adaware and spybot. Seems one always catches something the other missed.

Lead me not into temptation... I know the short cut, follow me.

Same here dpyers. I ran ad-aware twice yesterday (just to be safe). found over 250 items, deleted them all then ran spybot, found about 4 other things.
