Well, I can, but when I go back in, my old one is there and it keeps using the old one.
I can delete it all, "save" my settings, and refresh pages, etc., but when I go back to my preferences, my old signature is there!
HUH?
The old is over 200 characters, so it truncates the last characters. So I wanted to change from [URL=mywbsite etc    to [U*L]mywebsite[/U*L] to reduce characters, but it won't update or save it. Just keeps going back to the old one. Even new posts use the old one after I change it in my preferences.
How can I "force" it?

There have been no reports of any such issues with version 8.

Could be you have a corrupted file, try reuploading the original files again.

I see what it's doing! With some playing around, etc., I've discovered that it's changing my "code" and then that exceeds the 200 character count.
Here's what I'm attempting:
[U*L]http://theamcpages.com[/U*L]
[U*L]http://antique-engines.com[/U*L]
'70 Javelin SST
'80 Eagle Limited wagon project
'82 Eagle SX/4 Sport project
NAMDRA #3645

But what the thing does is change the [U*L] instead to read [U*L=http://theamcpages.com]http://theamcpages.com[/U*L]
So it's adding a lot of text, and that changes the length of the signature so it exceeds the 200 max.
I don't want it to read that way.
One solution would be to figure out how to increase the max, the other would be to figure out how to stop it from changing the signature text, if possible!
See, it won't let me do what the forum codes show I should be able to do when I'm in the profile update mode and click on the "forum codes" link, it shows I can do EITHER way, but it won't let me do the first method.
The file isn't corrupt - it seems to be a design thing, otherwise it in reality is letting me change it.
I tried some bogus text in there and it took it - I kept it very short, NO urls or links at all, and that worked just fine. So I CAN change it.
However...................

You may want to upgrade top version 9 is it slightly different on how it saves signatures.

Bruce you are a great salesman!  Wink
But I think we want to get past our growing and birthing pains first.
I'm sort of afraid of loosing the look we have, people LOVE it!
If I could drop the new version in and have the same or similar look to it, colors and all, well.........

I'd also like to drive the controls first.........

We bought the license so I'm not afraid of the dollars (or pounds), just the time.
