	I am currently running version 8.03 of wwf on an access db. I have repeatedly had db connection errors that I and others are attributing to the increased traffic level of our forums. I would like to upgrade to the newest version of wwf (9.53 I believe it is) and convert from an access to a mySQL db. Any information anyone could provide that may help streamline this upgrade is more than welcome. A BOM

	To upgrade to 9.53 download the latest free Express Edition and use the database upgrade tools provided. Moving to mySQL is not supported as mySQL uses a very different database schema to Access or SQL Server which uses a relational database. To move from Access you would need to upsize the database to SQL Server using the upsize wizard found in Microsoft Access. This is not the easiest thing in the world to do so if you do not want to do this yourself then you maybe interested in our hosted solutions from £4.99 per month. All you would need to do is signup to the hosting and send us your Access database. We would then take care of the rest of it for you so you would have the latest Premium Edition using SQL Server 2008 running on our servers.

	It is definitely worth the upgrade A Bom.. you will find alot more new features and security in updated to a different Data Base... As Bruce Said have a look at what WWF has to offer you.. they will take care of it for you.. as it is very time consuming.. I would recommend completely upgrading to the newest version..

	The easiest thing you co do A Bom is seriously consider requesting a quotation from Web Wiz Hosting and compare like for like. The transfer process can all be taken care of by Web Wiz, and I along with others can personally vouch for the levels of service you will be benefiting from It was the best move I had made anyways

	Thank you Bruce, Putz, and TWS. As is most always the case, the rabbitt whole goes much deeper than one would expect. I will definately be speaking with someone soon about hosting options and such.

	I think I can decrease some of the load on my DB by blocking some of the search robots that are continuously pulling data from our forums. Any suggestions in this area?

	Have you created a robots txt file? If you create one and place that in your root directory that can stop, or at least slow down the search hungry robots
