Upgrading from 5.22 to 7.6

I am having a problem upgrading from v5.22 to v7.6 and keeping all of my info in the dbs. I used the conversion tool but ran into problems with it wanting parameters and error messages.

Is there an easier way to do this as I do not want to loose any of the info in my dbs.

No, there is not.

Make very sure that you compact and repair BOTH databases before running the conversion tool.

Also when you have run the conversion tool do a compact and repair on the new database.

If you get errors, then please state what errors you get, makes life easier for those who want to help you!

I compacted and repaired each of the databases.

Here is what I get when I first start to convert the dbs.

1. Box with: Enter Parameter Value - Status

If I enter a value or leave it blank and click ok, it goes away then,

2. Box with: Enter Parameter Value tbl.Author.Avatar

I can enter a value or leave blank, click ok and it goes away.

Then I get this error message

Form_frm DataMigrator.cmd Execute_Click Error 0:

I am lost when this happens.

The upgrade tool is for version 6.x to version 7.x, I'm afraid there is no tool for upgrading from version 5.x

Is there any way that I can get a version 6, upload it, convert everything and then do the 6 to 7 conversion?

Your only choice will be to get version 7 and compare databases making all the changes to your version 6 database to make it the same as the version 7 database.

I will keep up better with the newer versions that come out.
